An eye gazes out over the Victory Plaza mall from a large LCD screen,
surrounded by blinking, flashing, animated artworks on other LED screens,
some moving on tracks, all vying for attention. I wanted something
quieter in the background that could captivate through contrast. I
was thinking of FISA, the proliferation of security cameras, pilotless
drone surveillance aircraft, and the culture of voyeurism, MySpace
and YouTube. Exhibited

park.
From Victory
Media Network: The Victory Media Network will be the first large-scale,
outdoor digital arts gallery in the world. This modern Kunsthalle will
be located in Dallas at the heart of Victory
Park, one of the most significant new urban developments in the
United States. Through its Victory Arts program, the Victory Media
Network will provide opportunities for digital artists from across
Texas and around the world to work and experiment with the finest video
display technology available. Incorporated within Victory Plaza are
eleven large, high-resolution LED screens. Eight of these screens -
four on each side of the Plaza - will move along horizontal tracks
to allow multiple configurations and motion possibilities. These Plaza
Screens can also be combined in sets of four to create “Super
”with HD resolution.
