I was born and raised in Colorado. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and my Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from Arizona State University. I worked for many years as the Master Printer at Segura Publishing in Tempe, Arizona, a fine art publishing house that creates limited edition lithographs and intaglios. I have collaborated with many fine artists including William Wegman and Keith Haring.

I later began teaching at the University of Advancing Technology in Phoenix, Arizona, where I taught a variety of subjects that included math and computer science, in addition to liberal arts subjects. My interest in programming led to a series of jobs in Northern California as a Software Engineer where, for many years, I designed and wrote user interfaces for a variety of products.

This diverse background in both art and computer science has lent itself to teaching a variety of subjects, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash. I have taught in the Applied Art and Design department at Sierra College in Northern California, and was, until recently, the Department Chair in Visual Communication at IADT in Sacramento. I left that job to become a full time instructor at AiO. I am very excited to be a full-time member of the AiO faculty!

In addition to teaching, I have also done contract work with California State Parks and Recreation creating training videos using primarily Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator. I also teach seminars on those subjects.

I also try to spend as much time as possible in my studio making art (I have just discovered the joys of creating altered books), as well as snowboarding and ocean kayaking with my husband and friends!
