After teaching at the Illinois Institute of Art Schaumburg for 2 years, I began teaching online classes for the Art Institute Online in 2004. I've taught both on ground and online simultaneously until 2006 when I began to solely teach online. Therefore, I have been with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online for 5 years teaching part-time and just started this month (2/2009) as a full-time faculty member. Before teaching at the college level, I taught Kindergarten through third grade art at Prairie Grove School in Crystal Lake, IL. I was also a Graphic Designer for several different companies, including Shaker Advertising and AstraZeneca and worked mainly in advertising. I worked on campaigns for Sears, UPS, Ameritech and Eddie Bauer. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Columbia College in Chicago and a Master of Science degree in Art Education from Northern Illinois University. I currently live in Chicago, Illinois with my two children, Olivia who is 5 and Lia who is 2. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my boyfriend, work out, draw and travel.
I enjoy teaching online because I’m passionate about teaching art and havethe opportunity to teach students from around the country. Having the abilityto work out of my home and keep a flexible schedule are added perks. I am sohappy to be part of the full-time team here at the Art Institute of PittsburghOnline!
