| Previous Assignment 5: Thumbnail Storyboard Exercise Early in the week, the facilitator will assign a synopsis to you for creating rough thumbnail boards to establish visual direction (that was assignment 4). Create the thumbnail boards, scan them, and post them to the appropriate Discussion Thread, by Day 5. Review and critique the thumbnail boards of the student to whom your synopsis was assigned and provide feedback on how well your idea was captured by the end of the week. Also suggest improvements.

Assignment 4: Synopsis Exercise Think of a small story that can be told by a 30 sec - 1 min animated sequence. Write a synopsis of this story including the basic elements of storytelling as described in the lectures. By Day 4, post the synopsis to the appropriate Discussion Thread. NOTE: you will storyboard this for assignment 5. Author: Marie Del Rio I think a looney toonish cartoon is what I really want to try. I am in the mood for silly. Marie Del Rio’s Storyboard Recruitment commercial for Wonder Weasel’s sidekick
My idea is to do a commercial that will try and recruit a sidekick for wonder weasel. Wonder weasel goes through sidekicks rather quickly through tragic misfortunes in the line of duty. So this commercial will try and convince some poor sap, I mean ambitious young person to join Wonder weasel in her fight for truth, justice and the toon way.
The commercial will start with her brief origin and powers. (She was reporting the weather at a land fill while talking on her cell phone and got struck by lightning. Each lightning strike gave her a new power). She was formerly in the super hero team known as D.U.C.K. When each of those members died she went solo. She has gone through countless of sidekicks and know after the tragic fall of Kamikaze Krow, she is looking for a brave young sidekick to fight crime with her.
Each shot will show the “benefits” of being a sidekick. It will also show the elaborate hall of fallen comrades, which you can be immortalized in too. It will have a long legal disclaimer spoken very fast and the quick note that soda lovers need not apply. |
