For the abstract composition I wanted to convey a message of excitement and thrill. I wanted to place emphasis on the center large circular tunnel So I used scale to make the center larger than the other two circles. I used saturated bright vivid colors to make the center circle the focal point and convey the message of excitement. The two smaller circles were placed on the sides to portray eyes on the figure. I then reduced the opacity of those two circles to reduce saturation in the colors. To achieve balance, unity, and gravity in the design I placed four abstract shapes appearing as legs on the figure to produce an abstract view of a fly.

As stated in my proposal, I expected to have challenges with using Photoshop and Illustrator to convey my ideas onto the canvas. With the use of the help menu within the program and numerous tutorials found online, I was able to overcome those challenges and produce the final design. My biggest obstacle on this design was using three layers of circles for each circle you see. It was very detailed and time consuming. The hardest part was coloring these layers as I had to group together the outer eye, middle eye, and inner eye all in different groups to be able to use color. Then I had to individually colorize each group. For the background, I took a picture of my texture ceiling and placed it into Illustrator, used live trace, then changed the fill and outline colors. I chose the deep purple for the fill with a lighter fill for the stroke to bring out the details. I chose this background because I felt it was a nice contrast to the design. A textured background with the design and colors being smooth would really draw out the effect to stimulate the eye.
