Easy labels
Illustrator is a pain when it comes to save for web, labeling.
Here's what I do
- Export from illus as a psd file
- Open the psd file in Photoshop
- Check and make sure the file is RGB, not CMYK (image:mode)
- Go to image/image size and make sure it is 72 dpi and around the size
you want
- Go to image/canvas size and select the top center square in the 9 square
grid, and then add about 50 or 75 pixels of canvas...make sure the background
color is set to white. You can add canvas to the sides and top if you need
to as well.
- Select the text tool, helvetica 11 pixel for example
- Label, and 'save for web' at high quality jpg. For flat color designs
you can use gifs, just make sure they are 256 color.
