Jesa Devir Description, Texture: I decided to make a texture that is almost wood-like in appearance. It didn't turn out as well as I would have liked for it to, but it still almost has a wood look to it. I started off with a gray background, and I rendered some fibers onto it. I used the settings of 20 variance and 15 strength. I then used the eraser brush at a lower opacity setting to take away some of the fibers, and followed up with sharpening on some of the canvas. I did this to contrast against each other, and also to give it a more realistic look that just automatically rendered fibers on the entire canvas. After this I placed another layer underneath the first, and put gray on that, so that on the bits I erased the grey would show through underneath it. Following this I created a third layer above the fibered layer, and I used craquelure on it. My settings were 76 spacing, 1 depth, and 0 brightness. I put the blending mode of this layer to colour burn and set it down to 50% opacity. This gave a more physical feeling to the image. I think the contrast probably isn't enough, but I still almost achieved the look I was going for, so I'm decently pleased with it. |
